How payouts work for managed payments sellers
Getting paid as a managed payments seller is simple. When a buyer purchases one of your items, you'll receive the funds in your chosen bank account for payouts. You can track all of your payouts in the Payments tab in Seller Hub or the Payments section in My eBay.
The information on this page applies only to customers who live in the European Union. Customers who live outside the European Union should read our article on How payouts work for managed payments sellers.

How do payouts work?
- After a buyer pays for an item you sold, the funds minus fees will show in your Processing funds, which means the payment is confirmed and it's safe to go ahead and ship the item(s)
- The funds will typically appear as Available for payout within 2 business days from order confirmation, unless the transaction was placed on hold, in which case it may take longer
- The payout will generally be initiated within 2 business days from order confirmation. Once initiated, the payout status updates to Funds sent and it typically takes 1-2 business days for the funds to clear in your account and become available to you
- This timeline is similar to the time it can take a credit card company to process your monthly payment, and depends on the processes of your financial institution
- After the payout is initiated, the funds are no longer with eBay. eBay does not earn interest on any seller funds
- A bank reference ID is available in Payout details, and can be provided to your bank to help you track your payouts
When we initiate the payout, we'll send you an email and create a Payout ID to help you keep track of your transactions in Payouts reporting.
Managed payments sellers must add a specified bank account to receive their funds. Managed payments sellers can't use a PayPal account as a payout method.
Processing, On hold, and Available funds
Processing funds: These amounts aren't ready for payout yet. Generally, funds that appear as Processing are still pending and you don't need to take any action.
On hold funds: These amounts aren't ready for payout yet. Generally, funds are placed on hold if a buyer opens a dispute.
Available funds: The amount you will be paid in your next payout. Generally, funds that appear Available are the total of all completed transactions, excluding applicable fees or any transactions on hold.
- Your Available funds may change if we process any additional orders or refunds before your next payout
- If you refund a buyer, and you don't have enough to cover the full amount of the refund from your Available, Processing, and On hold funds, we'll charge your payout bank account or on-file payment method to cover the remaining amount
- Created: A Payout ID has been created by eBay and the payout is initiated to begin the process of payment
- Processing: The payout has been initiated by eBay and is in the process of being sent to your bank
- Returned: The payout has been initiated by eBay, but an issue has occurred with your bank or eBay. We will notify you by email and retry initiating the payout. You may also need to update your payout method under Payout settings to resolve the issue
- Blocked: Your payout method could be invalid, or may have been blocked by eBay. You should check My eBay Messages for more information on the possible issue
- Funds Sent: Your payout is successful. eBay has sent your payout, it could take 1-2 business days for your bank to process the funds to your bank account

If an eBay Money Back Guarantee claim or payment dispute is found in your buyer's favour, eBay may issue a refund to the buyer on your behalf. In this case, we will recoup the amount from your Available, Processing, or On hold funds.
If your Available, Processing, and On hold funds are insufficient to cover the outstanding amounts you owe, eBay will charge your on-file payment method within 14 days to recoup the full amount. We may add up the amounts you owe into a single charge. All the details related to these charges will be visible on your financial statement.
How to change your payout schedule
By default, payouts are initiated daily, but you can also change to weekly payouts.
- Daily payouts are initiated Monday through Friday and include any funds that have become Available for payout during the previous 24 hours
- Weekly payouts are initiated on Tuesdays and include any funds that have become Available for payout Monday through Sunday of the previous week
Here's how to change your payout schedule in Seller Hub:
- Go to Payments in Seller Hub.
- Select Payout Settings.
- Change the frequency of your payouts from Daily to Weekly as needed.
You can also change your payout schedule in Payments in My eBay.
If the buyer pays in a currency that's different to your payout currency, the payment will be converted to your payout currency. The currency exchange rate will be captured at the time of sale and can be viewed in the order details. This exchange rate will apply in the event of a refund.
What to do if payouts fail
If your payouts are showing as Returned or Blocked, your bank information may be incorrect or you may need to verify additional information before we can initiate payouts to your account. Learn more in our article about Submitting or updating your information for managed payments.
How quickly you get paid after a sale depends on when the buyer completes the order. Once eBay initiates your payout, it typically takes 1-2 days for the funds to clear in your bank account.
