You can pay for items on eBay using PayPal, credit cards, or debit cards, as well as Apple Pay or Google Pay in some cases. Before you bid or buy, check which payment methods are accepted by going to the Postage and Payments section of the listing.
Once you've won an auction-style listing or bought an item at a fixed-price using Buy It Now, you can pay for your order.
When you check out and pay, make sure to verify or change your postage details. If you pay with a card, you may need to complete a standard security verification at checkout.
If you're having an issue paying for an item using a credit or debit card, you may be using an older web browser that isn't secure enough for making payments or managing your payment methods. You'll need to upgrade your browser in order to buy the item.
You'll receive an email letting you know your payment was received and when your item will be posted.
Other accepted payments
For items in certain categories (such as Motors or Real Estate) or those picked up in person, sellers can also offer to accept payment on pickup, COD (Cash on Delivery), bank-to-bank transfers, or money orders.
You may see a choice of payment currency options at checkout. For example, if you live in Ireland, and want to pay for an item located in the US, you may see the option to pay in either Euro or USD.
If you choose to pay in your local currency and it's different from the currency the item is listed in, you’ll see the exchange rate along with the order total in your local currency at checkout. You’ll also see the currency you used in the order details in your confirmation email.
