You can pay for items on eBay using PayPal, credit cards, or debit cards. Before you bid or buy, check the listing to see which payment methods the seller accepts.
Once you've won an auction-style listing or bought an item at a fixed-price using Buy It Now, you can pay for your order.
When you check out and pay, make sure to verify or change your postage details. If your PayPal account is linked with your eBay account, you'll just confirm and pay. If it's not linked or if you don't have a PayPal account, you can select another payment method, such as a credit or debit card. You'll then confirm your order details and pay through PayPal guest checkout.
If you're having an issue paying for an item using a credit or debit card, you may be using an older web browser that isn't secure enough for making payments or managing your payment methods. You'll need to upgrade your browser in order to buy the item.
You'll receive an email letting you know your payment was received and when your item will be posted.
To speed things up in checkout, you can:
- Save your payment details
- Pay with PayPal every time
If you have questions regarding your PayPal account, please contact them directly.
Under the eBay Money Back Guarantee, you're protected for the full value of most orders, including postage, when you pay with PayPal.
Other accepted payments
For items in certain categories (such as Motors or Real Estate) or those picked up in person, sellers can also offer to accept payment on pickup, COD (Cash on Delivery), bank-to-bank transfers, money orders, or other payment services. With these methods though, you aren't covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
